Taj Mahal Agra is one of the most popular buildings of the
world. People remember it as a symbol of love. You have often seen its pictures in front page of many magazines, and it is to be said that everyone has probably seen a picture of it.
In real the building looks more attractive than in a picture. It never disappoints
people who come to see it with high expectations.
According to history, Taj Mahal was built by famous Mughal
King named Shah Jahan in 17th century in Agra, India. At that time
the city Agra was the capital of the Mughal Empire from 6th to 17th
centuries. Shah Jahan, who was one of the Mughal Kings, remained a part of
history, because he built the famous Taj Mahal. The King built the building to enshrine the
body of his wife named Arjumand Bann Begum (known as Mumtaz Mahal) after her
death. The construction of Taj Mahal India started in 1632, during the creation of the building he
used over 20,000 labour and hundreds of skilled craftsmen from different part
of the world such as Italy, Persia and Turkey. This huge building was completed
after the hard-work of 20 years in 1653. This beautiful building is located on
the banks of the river Yamuna not very far from the Agra Fort (it is also a
beautiful building to visit).
Building of Taj Mahal India is above 55 meters high and built with
white and yellow marble. There are two
red stone buildings along with Taj Mahal, one a mosque and the other a rest
house. The complex is set around a beautiful huge square garden. Visitors spend
several hours around the Taj Mahal Agra and in the gardens because this place is
haggler free. Even with the huge crowds visiting the tomb it is a relaxing
place. The garden is laid out with paths of trees and beautiful fountains.
Interior Beauty of Taj Mahal
Interior Beauty of Taj Mahal
Visiting to mausoleum in Taj Mahal, Agra it is necessary to roll a cloth piece
around your feet before entering the mausoleum. It is necessary to do it with your feet to
enter any temple in India. This cloth is available on rent for a small fee just
before the stairs leading to the tomb. You can also visit there barefoot, but
don’t try it in sunny days, you will certainly burn your feet due to the marble
heating up under the sun. The interior
walls are about 5 meters high. The inside building the interiors are rather
dark, take a closer look and you can see the actual beauty which cannot be seen
in first look. You will see all the fine marble carvings decorated with many
precious and semi-precious stones of different colors such as sapphire, topaz,
coral, etc. A guide can show you that a lot of the interior decorations are
made of transparent marble. In the middle of room you can see two graves. One is
of Mumtaz Mahal and other is of Shah Jahan. Taj Mahal Agra India attracts some 2 to 3 millions tourists per year.
